The Paddy Ashdown Forum: Inspired by the Vision, Commitment, and Principles of the late Paddy Ashdown

Paddy Ashdown, known during his distinguished career in politics as an internationalist, was driven by a strong belief in the power of democracy, effective governance, and international cooperation. Throughout his life, he championed the importance of inclusive societies, human rights, and sustainable development. His unwavering dedication to these causes served as a guiding light for the creation of the Paddy Ashdown Forum (PAF).

Established in 2019, the Paddy Ashdown Forum is a non-partisan, action-oriented research, policy, and practical project delivery organisation committed to advancing policies and delivering practical sustainably viable projects that follow the Sphere Economy for strong, inclusive, fair and just global economies from the effective balance of multiple interacting investment, organisational, environmental, governance and social ecosystems.

Robert Woodthorpe Browne

Robert Woodthorpe Browne – a linguist and liberal internationalist, following a successful career in the world of insurance where he was the founding ‘father of Nigerian insurance’, he started the annual African Insurance conference in Mauritius.1971-2021. He worked tirelessly with Chris Gleadle to establish the Paddy Ashdown Forum in 2019. Sadly Robert died November 2022.

Chris has practised, mentored, and taught practical systems thinking for over thirty years. His prolific work is based on his experience implementing systems thinking across sectors sizes and boundaries.
